Because cedar shutters are durable and resist decay quite well they are great for exterior use. Cedar is very hardy against heat and moisture. Exterior shutters will be exposed to hot, humid days, frost and rain so this stable timber makes a wonderful choice.
Panel and blade sizes
The blade sizes you can choose from are 68mm, 90mm and 115mm. The 90mm blade is the more common choice but it’s entirely up to your personal preferences.
Thanks to cedar being so durable and strong we are able to offer a maximum panel width of 1,150 for 68/90mm blades and 1,350 for 115mm blades. These are the widest shutters available and they offer a clean, clear feel to the room.
Cedar shutters do not require a mid rail so this will avoid having a ‘cut off’ look, allowing for an uncluttered feel in the room. You can select from a few different styles of tilt rods that open and close your shutters. Side and rear tilts offer an unobstructed view through your shutters and the middle tilt is the more classic shutter style look.
